Most appliances can be used right after being taken out of the box. You can just plug it to a wall outlet and use it right away. They are designed that way. Your TV for example can be used in that way and some other small appliances. There are some devices however that are not so simple to use. There are some appliances that would have to be installed by an electrician before you can hope to use them.

Electrical Appliances Installation- Normally these are the large appliances that use up a great amount of electricity. One such example is the air conditioning unit. It eats up a lot of electricity because of the motors that run it. Because of fact that it draws a great amount of electricity to it, there might be a need for making some changes with the electrical wiring of the system first.  This should only be done by a licensed electrician for a couple of reasons. Here are just some of the reasons:

• Safety should come first. Making changes with the electrical system of your home means some level of danger. There is always the chance that you could get electrocuted if you do it on your own.
• In some areas it is actually against the law for someone who is not licensed for it to make changes with the electrical system of a house.
• An electrician would know of all the right materials to use in making the electrical changes at home. You should know that electrical wires used in installation would have certain ratings. They can only handle current up to a certain level. An electrician would know the right rating of wires to use.

Because of these reasons you should always make sure that you hire a good electrician whenever you are going to use a new appliance that is larger than the ones that you have and has a higher rating as well. In fact it would be better if you consult with an electrician first and find out if your home electrical system can handle the new device, or if you would have to make some major changes. The electrician might be able to make some suggestion for your purchase that would require little or no changes in your home, which can be a big hassle. The changes can also cost a lot since there are many things that would have to be changed.
